It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the sudden passing of Barry Andrews (universally known as Baz!), a co-founder of TinTub Luxury Lodge.

Baz was the heart and soul of TinTub.  What began as a vision shaped by care, craftsmanship, and connexion a became through his effort and spirit, something unique and special.  He believed luxury was not about excess, but about thoughtfulness and a sense of  place; about creating an experience where people felt genuinely welcomed, comfortable, and at ease.  A place where people could pause, breathe, and appreciate.

Baz took time with people. He listened. He noticed details others might overlook. His warmth, generosity, and quiet pride in what he built left a lasting impression on guests, colleagues, and friends alike.

TinTub stands as a reflection of Baz himself - unpretentious, distinctive, and very much ‘Kiwi’ hosting.  His legacy will live on through the lodge - a place he deeply cared for - and the many people whose lives were touched by his warm hospitality.

Our thoughts are with Trish, his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, Baz – we’ll take it from here. You will be deeply missed, and not forgotten.
